Lathe Cut Dubplates

Get your music onto vinyl that sounds as good as it looks. Whether you’re a label looking for a short run or a DJ wanting exclusive dubplates, 36 Hertz Mastering delivers professional lathe cut vinyl with care, precision, and a sound that stands out. No minimum runs, no compromises – just vinyl that hits hard and looks amazing.

At 36 Hertz Mastering, we specialise in lathe cut vinyl services for short-run records and DJ dubplates, all cut in-house using our Vinylrecorder T560 lathe. We handle every step ourselves, ensuring consistent quality and attention to detail on every record.

Our system cuts your tracks directly into blank vinyl that looks, feels, and sounds like pressed vinyl – often even better. Each dubplate or short-run vinyl is cut in real time, just like a traditional acetate master, but without the wear and tear. Properly stored, your records will maintain clarity, punch, and depth for years.

These aren’t acetate or lacquer dubplates. We use 2 mm thick plastic blanks for a solid heavyweight feel, deeper grooves, and stronger bass. A 10-inch weighs around 120 grams, a 12-inch around 180 grams, matching the quality of a true heavyweight pressed record.

With custom lathe cut vinyl from 36 Hertz, labels and artists can produce as many or as few copies as needed – whether a handful of exclusive DJ dubplates or a short run for a label release. Every record is crafted with care and precision.

We offer black, clear, or coloured discs, gloss full-colour labels, sleeve stickers, run-out groove etching, custom shapes like square discs, and sizes from 3-inch to 14-inch.

Our cuts bring out the very best in your music on vinyl. Vinyl has its own characteristics – what’s known as “vinyl warmth” – and we optimise every cut for full, balanced sound with depth and weight. For the ultimate results, we also provide mixing and mastering specifically for vinyl cutting.

We cut at 45 rpm for the cleanest sound, switching to 33 rpm only for longer tracks. Ideal lengths are around 7-8 minutes on a 10-inch and 8-12 minutes on a 12-inch, but we always aim to get the most out of your music without compromising quality.

Every record we cut is carefully sleeved in a sturdy card sleeve and packed inside a resealable clear outer to keep it safe during storage and shipping.

Choosing 36 Hertz Mastering means working with a team that genuinely cares about how your music sounds on vinyl.
